[Forum] RE: Numbers "as numbers"
I don't know of a specific rule or guideline in CMOS, but in reading your examples, I understand the meaning without the numbers being italicized.  In other words, I don't think you need to italicize any of the numbers. ~ Mark

[Forum] RE: numbers
I find that kind of numeration really annoying to read. However, people in academia and the sciences, in particular, like their numbers to be visible. If it's essential that the numbers stand out, I concur with what Jerry said. On the other hand, if the single-digit numbers are more a part of the te

[Forum] RE: Proper use of numbers in the manuscript
Hello, tutenkharnage! Many thanks for your invaluable input on this topic. I have a lot to learn. I am working on it! Once again, thank you! I know I am repeating myself! P.S. 1. I decided to use numbers up to nine and digits for all larger numbers. 2. I like the "Perform 3–5 crunches fo

[Forum] Inclusive numbers: which style?
Hi! If I'm editing a text for someone who says, "I was told to follow the CMOS guide on abbreviating inclusive numbers, so I tried to follow 9.60, but could you be sure to check those for me?" - do you think I should assume this author should be following the guidance in 9.61 ("Abbreviating, or
