[Forum] prime and double prime symbol instead of straight quotes
The CMOS 10.37 “Latitude” and “longitude” describes the use of prime and double prime symbols for gps coordinates. We have been using straight quotes because the prime symbol is not included with the font we are using, which is Oldstyle Berkley. We include gps coordinates in the text of our hiki

[Forum] RE: Spacing before and after forward slash
I concur with Cheech and Lin--no spaces before or after a slash in general text, as with the example sentence you provided.

[Forum] RE: Spaces with Initials
I don't think it's too difficult to find out company names. I'd list it as J. C. Penney Company, Inc. (as it on their website), and maybe JCP in parens.

[quote='Pixna' pid='11320' dateline='1372529410'] Well, then, ya just gotta pick one of 'em and run with it. [/quote] My point exactly. :)

[Forum] RE: Dialogue, Ellipses, and Punctuation

[url=http://corpus.byu.edu/coca/]COCA[/url] searches for: which , of course , in (one needs to leave spaces on both sides of punctuation for it to be detected) gives 9 examples which of course in gives 5

[Forum] use of "who"
Is "who" needed in the following sentence? I'm not sure if I've written the sentence correctly. News reporters sometimes take pictures of people who do not look disabled, but who are using the handicapped parking spaces.

[Forum] RE: Punctuating the end of a sentence with word elided
Change the exclamation point to a period in the 13.28 example: the same thing as “I eat what I see”!’ ” would become the same thing as "I eat what I see." ' " (spaces added for clarity)

[Forum] 5pm vs. 5 p.m.
I know that Chicago recommends "a.m./p.m." with periods, but is "5pm" or "10:30am" (no periods/no spaces as shown) totally incorrect, especially in formal writing? Have any of you ever written it this way, or is it not a good idea to do so? Thanks.
