Q. Does Chicago prefer “COVID-19” or “Covid-19”?

A. We prefer all-caps “COVID-19.” To find out why, please see “Styling COVID-19 and Related Terms” at CMOS Shop Talk. In fiction and other creative contexts, however—and in casual prose of any kind—“Covid” or “covid” may be preferred; see CMOS 10.6 for details.
