[Forum] RE: book 1, 2, etc. in running text
[quote='scottsoup' pid='36987' dateline='1530398784'] Thank you, but unfortunately that doesn't answer my question. That confirms the decision to use numerals rather than spelled-out numbers, but it doesn't answer the question about whether the word [i]book[/i] should be lowercase or uppercase. I'm

[Forum] RE: Comma, or no?
No commas for a restrictive appositive (the appositive is needed to define "the book.") You could rephrase, though: "The group will discuss [i]Here If You Need Me[/i], a book by Kate Braestrap.

[Forum] Comma, or no?
Hello, fellow wordies. I was asked if this sentence requires a comma after "book" and I'm embarrassed to say I don't know. The group will discuss the book Here If You Need Me by Kate Braestrap.

[Forum] RE: reprinting old text
Welcome to the site, kiakanag! I'm not sure I understand your concern. One of my many little jobs is working for Distributed Proofreaders. They prepare old manuscripts for Gutenberg.org. When they are styling a book, they just follow the normal page breaks of the book. There is nothing differ

[Forum] Documentary Note Style for source with author, translator, and editor
Hello, I am attempting to cite a book which has an author, two translators, and two editors. The book was written by a single author, and the two translators and the two editors were used to clarify and perfect the translation. My guess is that the editors, because they only assisted the trans

[Forum] RE: Title Page of Book
I don't think they have to match, unless the publisher's guidelines specify that. I'm guessing you're self-publishing this one so you probably have flexibility. Just my thoughts...not really based in a hard rule anywhere and I have not worked in book publishing.
