I rarely disagree with Pixna or Cheech, but in this instance I'm with Micita on the question of degree/degrees.

I considered suggesting that too, Micita, but my concern was that it could be easily misinterpreted that the teachers each had more than one degree (which is always a possibility).

In our publication, we publish many articles that have state abbreviations in the middle of a sentence. When is it appropriate to use a comma after the state abbreviation? [b][u]Example 1[/u][/b] John Doe was born in West Chester, PA, in 1923, and lived in Pittsburgh, PA, in his adult years.
